Mount Vernon is a 110 acre section on the north side of Mockingbird Lane. It might be on the University Park side of Mockingbird Lane, but it is pure Highland Park. Dallas Country Club and Turtle Creek wrap around this neighborhood. On the opposite corner of the neighborhood is McCulloch Intermediate School. Shenandoah and Mockingbird Lane make up the other boundaries. Close to the creek, wonderful homes built in the second half of the 20th century are found designed by architects, including Robert Perry and Bud Oglesby.
